Day out in Southend
Our new year has begun, and what better way to celebrate it by a trip to the seaside? This year, our excitable team headed off for a day out in Southend-on-Sea! A pleasant picnic, a shopping trip, a theme park and the beach, all in one day- what more could you ask for? The weather tried to be kind to us (and was- at times... but what's a trip to the British seaside without a rain shower or three?) The dodgems proved too much to resist, as did the sea to all but the least adventurous (or perhaps, most sensible?) members of the team!

We had a great day together... hopefully they'll be a few pictures we can add to this later!

Happy Christmas!
We're all about to start our annual Christmas retreat here at Sion, so before we all disappear off into the world of prayer and reflection (and for some of our team at least, trying to avoid being online all the time!) we'd just like to wish you a very happy Christmas!

May God bless you greatly this Christmas and may you experience his love as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

New Year, New Team
After a sad farewell to our leaving team members, the time has come to welcome our shiny and new lovely team members for this next year. Rachel, Neil, Amy, Fiona and Kate all moved in to our Community last weekend and joined the happy Sion Youth Ministry family! And as well as welcoming new people, we're also heralding the return of two former members of our team, Matt and Clare. They left Youth Ministry last year after getting married and having new jobs in Community but they are back with avengence! As is Sarah, who is becoming joint Director! Hooray!

We look forward to you meeting them on the forum and on mission and the other events you'll see us at!

Summer Holidays
Hi Guys! We hope you're all enjoying the lovely sunny weather that we're having at the moment - we certainly are!

After all the D-Weekends and Missions, we thought that we deserved a good rest and so we're all having 2 weeks summer holidays before we put the last bit of effort in for Summer Camp. Most people have gone home to their parents houses, but others have gone abroad on holiday with friends or are starting to pack up all their stuff to move house!

Some of us are preparing to leave just after summer camp - but do not fear - we have some lovely new team members who are preparing to move in in just over a month's time!

We're all back next week - so see you then!

P.S. Get your Summer Camp forms in ASAP!!!!!

D Weekends
The summer's here at last!

Cross Purposes celebrated the arrival of the summer by doing an outdoor mission ... well sort of. We were part of some fantastic outreach work at the local fair where we live. It was great fun although we did have to endure setting up our sound tent for an hour and then it all blowing down - grrr!
We even got to pray with people in the middle of a busy fair- how exciting is that! (we'll try and get some photos of the fair up soon...Happy)

Half the team travelled up north for the d-weekend north - hope all you d-weekenders had a fantastic time!!

We are all went to opposite end of the country for our prayer days, a bit of retreat to completely chill out just with God, was fab.

We've just arrived home from D-Weekend South. We're absolutely shattered but we had an awesome time, hope you guys did too!

We're also busy preping for Summer Camp, we absolutely can't wait, it's gonna be the best ever! Oh yes! Happy So if you are still planning to get your form in - do it quick!! Email us or leave us a message if you're confused bout the new system.

Hope you are all ok, we're praying for you all and for all the school's we've visited on mission. Keep up the good work!

God Bless, Love Cross Purposes x

Website News
Wow!!! The website has now had over 20000 hits!!! We are incredibly excited about this and we are hoping to take things to the next level with a new section on prayer. Hopefully we can learn to do pod casting and make the prayers ipod compatible as well. Also we have a new section on mission which should be on its way to you soon. If you have any feedback or ideas for ways to expand the site that would be awesome!!! Check out the prayer section now!

We're Back
Hello there everyone, we're back again! We hope you all had a very happy Easter! We all had a fab time at Celebrate, and God did some amazing things for us and the young people we were working with! The week was fantastic, and lots of fun, as well as absolutely exhausting! If you think we do a lot of things on mission, it's nothing compared to Celebrate! So we've all had to have a nice holiday to recover and get ready for mission again!

We're back at work again now, getting ready to go on mission to Edmund Campion School in Portsmouth- at last! This is our second to last mission of the term, and after that we'll be gearing up for Summer Camp (woo-hoo!)

Those of you who've been around for some time, thank you for everything you contribute to our forum, please keep on chatting and sharing. To any newbies, welcome and dive right in, we'll be around for some time this week until we go on mission, and we love having new people joining in the fun here!

Love Cross Purposes Happy

Writing, Recording and Preparing
At the moment everything feels a bit slow. We are spending a lot of time on things that aren't finished. We are preparing the website to transfer to a new server which should go smoothly. We have also created loads of new pages and overhauled everything to give the whole site a fresh breath of life. At the same time we are writing new songs for mission and working on recordings ready to use for mission. We're really excited at the prospect of new songs but it takes ages to go from writing to a final album so please pray for that!

Finally we are preparing for our mission to Plessington at the end of the week which will be our first mission of the term. I think most of the team are so up for it they might get there before the van. It's ages since we went on mission and we can't wait!

Jesus and Christmas
Christmas is really about Jesus. We all have a call from Jesus to respond to him this Christmas. We have a website link for you to explore some of the deep questions of life. Check it out and then let us know what you think in the Cafe Forum

Christmas is Coming!!!!!
We're all looking forward to Christmas. At this time before Christmas we all celebrate Christmas as a community. One of our favourite ways to party is with costumes. I thought I'd put up some pictures to give you a balanced (ahem) idea of what community life is like. We'd very much like to keep in touch over Christmas. How are things at St Michael's? How are things at Canon Palmer? What little Christmas traditions are your favourite? What are your family traditions?

Breathe Worship
James who came with us on mission to Bradford has started up a website called breathe worship. This is still a work in progress but it will hopefully become a huge music resource for anyone who wants to worship God. Go for it James we love it.
