Structure of the Mission.
The mission process is made up of 1 or more visits to the school in preparation and then a mission week on the theme of Choose Life.Pre-Mission Visits.
There will be visits to the school about 3 times before a mission. The first visit is to meet the Senior Management Team and discuss the vision and needs of the school community. After that 1 or 2 further visits are made in preparation for the mission week. These visits include assemblies for all the pupils. A staff meeting to prepare the teaching staff. Training and preparation for pupils including Dance and Sign Language so that pupils can be on stage with Cross Purposes from day one.Mission Week.
Mission week is delivered by Cross Purposes. The typical theme of mission week is Choose Life, and will generally follow this same basic structure. Monday begins with the introduction of that theme.

TuesdayOn Tuesday we look at our relationship with God as a loving father and at issues to do with our own self worth. |
WednesdayOn Wednesday the assemblies follow the life of Jesus and look at his mercy and grace, and include some teaching on Reconciliation. Later in the day there are workshops which are opportunities for the young people to explore the issues more deeply and then pray into them.In the evening after school we run an event called 'Maximus' which is a social time with pupils and leads into prayer. It is an essential time of relationship building and informal discipleship. |

Thursday EveningThe Thursday Evening Thing runs under the title "The Time Is Now", and is a time for the whole community to gather and come together to laugh, sing, pray and share faith together. Parents and parishioners are invited into school for their slice of the mission pie. |

FridayThe day is focused around the Mass - which is the life and source of our faith. The aim is to provide a rich encounter with the liturgy of the Church and to spend time with Jesus. The Mass is explained as we go through to help young people understand what they are encountering and to enrich their future visits to church. |
