“Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will affliction, or distress, or persecution, or hunger, or nakedness, or the sword? Yet in all this we are conquerors, through Him who has granted us His love." (Rom 8:35-37)
The love of Christ is being constantly poured down on us, love that is stronger than hate, pain, stronger than hunger, lust; love that is stronger than death itself.
His love is limitless and none of the things of the world can stop that love.
What will then separate us from the love of Christ?
It is ourselves, who is our greatest enemy, for we have power, the freedom, to refuse that love, the love of the One who is our greatest fulfillment.
He conquered all affliction, distress, persecution, hunger, nakedness, peril and sword. It is conquered by Christ and by me, for I am in Him, because of His Mercy and Grace.
But I am still free to choose not to receive that love.
“How great is the gift of free will to man. It is a great blessing and great enemy.”
For I am not afraid of pain, nor of my sister death, for I know God’s love and promises, I know God’s faithfulness; I am afraid that I choose not to receive the Love of my Beloved.
Give me again the joy of Your help.” (Ps 51: 12) Help me remember the joy of your love. “So that I, sinner, may return to you,” (Ps 51:13) always. Therefore, “I gaze on You in the sanctuary, to see Your strength and Your glory.” (Ps 63:2)
Lead me in Your ways.
