Sion Community invests around £4,500 in every person who joins Sion Youth's Foundation Year. Because Sion Community is a charity, and relies completly on providence, you are invited to make a contribution towards this through fundraising prior to starting your year with us and by inviting mission partners to support you during your year.

Picture
The length & start dates
Each Foundation Year will last 11 months and the next one begins in August 2019. Vacation takes place during the Christmas period,  as well as after Easter.

Location
The Ark of the Covenant, 110 Potters Green Road, Coventry, West Midlands, CV2 2AN, UK

Age requirements
Applicants must be 18 years old by 31st August 2019. If you are over the age of 25 and are still interested in the Foundation Year, please get in contact with us: youthmembers@sionyouth.org.uk

Money
The £4,500 Sion Community will invest in you will cover housing, transportation, prayer days, books, mission expenses, formation, food and a monthly stipend of £160.

You are responsible for personal transportation (breaks, holidays) and personal car expenses.

It is recommended that you try and raise at least £500 before your arrival in August 2019. This money can be sent to the Ark of the Covenant before your arrival in August 2016. You are also encouraged to raise more money throughout the year by inviting mission partners to join you in God’s mission.

How do I fundraise?
Sion Community lives completely on Divine Providence. You will invite friends, family, co-workers and parishioners to be “Mission Partners.” Mission Partners commit to prayer and financial support throughout your mission year. You, in turn, commit to praying for them and their intentions as well as sending them monthly updates on how God is moving through you and thus through their investment in you as mission partners. Your Mission Partners are your personal prayer team, your army of prayer cover as you go out to be witnesses to the ends of the earth. The preferred method is to invite people to give monthly. This forms an ongoing relationship and reflects the reality that your Mission Partners are truly on mission with you. Each Foundation Year member is encouraged to enlist as many Mission Partners as possible. We will provide sample letters, response cards and fundraising ideas that you will personalise and send out.
